Rest and Be Thankful is a 65-acre private horse farm in Lyman, Maine, purchased in 2006 by George and Michele Cheney. The antique Cape and attached barn date back to the 1860s. The farm is home to three horses, Adam, Dexter and Bouncer. The farm was named Rest and Be Thankful after the ancestral home in the novel The Sherwood Ring, written by George's aunt, Elizabeth Marie Pope. George and Michele, along with their daughter Lucy and son Bud, have worked hard to create a place that is active, but peaceful.
